Outgoing US Ambassador Tom Udall is confident New Zealand is in a strong position to negotiate exemptions from any tariffs introduced by incoming US President Donald Trump.
Udall — a former Democratic Party senator for New Mexico — said work is already underway to build relationships between Wellington and the new administration in Washington, DC.
